A more or less significant difference can be observed between the measurements carried out by the iSpindler and those carried out with a diving hydrometer.

Several reasons for this :

1.atmospheric pressure when calibrating to create the polynomial formula and atmospheric pressure when you use it

2.the altitude you are at when using the iSpindler and the altitude at which it has been calibrated
3. The water profile can also influence, if you have really very hard water for example.
4.pressure exerted on the iSpindler in the fermenter during fermentation

5.the presence of alcohol in the must

6.krausen hanging on the iSpindler

Do not forget to make the density / temperature correction, the iSpindler does not take this into account.

As you can see in the image above, there is also the fact that the polynomial formula generator does not draw straight lines from one measurement to another during calibration. it establishes a curve taking into account various parameters. This is also one of the reasons why you may notice a discrepancy when comparing measurements made by the iSpindler and a dip hydrometer. Sometimes it just falls right, sometimes it falls a bit off.

As said previously, the iSpindler is a fermentation monitoring tool ( not a measuring device! ). By this we mean that what we want to observe with this device is the curve collapsing and remaining flat for several days in a row, which will indicate that the fermentation is finished and that you can move on to the next step. .
